Air Orlando Maintenance located at Orlando Executive Airport (KORL) is pleased to announce it is now installing Kelly Thermacool air conditioning systems in Cessna’s 206/T206 series aircraft, including float-equipped 206’s.
The lightweight, all-electric air conditioning system does not rob engine horsepower and allows full conditioned air output on the ground with no operating limitations during taxi, take off, or landing. Joe Burdzy, Director of Maintenance at Air Orlando says an air conditioned cabin can make all the difference.
“When ground pre-cooling, the system provides a 20 degree temperature drop in 5 minutes. That’s quite an enhancement, especially when cabin temperatures can easily reach 100 degrees in the summer.” The system was initially designed for and is currently available for Cessna 172R/S and 182S models. The long-awaited 206 version received FAA/STC certification in late 2014.
