WICHITA, Kan. (January 8, 2019) — Cirrus Aircraft officially unveiled the next-generation Vision Jet today. The Generation 2 (G2) Vision Jet incorporates the latest cutting-edge technology with the outstanding design and comfort Cirrus customers expect from the company that brought the world’s first, single-engine Personal Jet to market.

“The Cirrus Aircraft story is one of relentless innovation,” said Pat Waddick, president of innovation and operations. “Much like the last 20 years of re-imagining the SR Series with constant improvements to performance, safety, and comfort, the G2 Vision Jet is the culmination of that same spirit of innovation. This aircraft is yet another game-changer in personal aviation and it’s made possible by the world-class team we have at Cirrus Aircraft.”

The G2 Vision Jet features intelligent, long-life True Blue Power batteries and a highly efficient DC-to-AC inverter. Two TB17 (17 amp-hour) lithium-ion batteries deliver significant weight savings and superior cold weather performance. The TI250 DC-to-AC Inverter delivers 250 watts of standard AC power to electronic devices throughout the cabin.

“We congratulate Cirrus and are proud to partner with such forward-thinking innovators,” said Erik Ritzman, Director of True Blue Power. “As a state-of-the-art, more electric aircraft, the G2 requires cutting-edge battery technology. The TB17 weighs just 16 pounds and offers an extensive list of benefits important to Vision Jet owners, including faster and cooler engine starts–especially in cold weather–and reduced carbon emissions.”

The new jet features a spacious cabin and an upgraded avionics suite, which includes Mid-Continent Instruments and Avionics’ Standby Attitude Module. SAM(R) is the first digital standby instrument to display attitude, altitude, airspeed, slip, vertical trend and heading information in an advanced 2-inch format.
