The Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) has announced that it will be holding its inaugural Winter Flight Fest at the EAA Aviation Museum in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, on Feb. 22, 2020. A combination of the organization’s Skiplane Fly-In and Family Flight Fest, event features will include the skiplane fly-in at Pioneer Airport, a precision landing challenge using zip line aircraft, a Wright Flyer simulator and virtual reality experiences, radio-controlled (RC) airplane and model making demonstrations, a scavenger hunt and an RC airshow.

A model-building competition will also be held at the Flight Fest with age brackets for children (1-12), teenagers (13-18), and adults (19+). Entries will be built at home and judged in Best Build, Most Accurate and Most Complex categories. Winners will be announced directly after the judging. Winter Flight Fest admission prices are $12.50 for adults, $10.50 for seniors and $9.50 for children. The one-day event is free for EAA members. Activities are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. local time.
