The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) at its annual Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition (NBAA-BACE) in Las Vegas next month is devoting resources to introducing aviation-related university and technical school students to career opportunities available in business aviation. On Oct. 19, the third day of the weeklong trade show, NBAA will highlight nine career categories: airport business, business management, broker/sales, cabin attendant, innovation and technology, maintenance, marketing, pilot, and scheduler/dispatcher. The association will have members of its Young Professionals in Business Aviation (YoPros) group—including recent hires—on hand to talk about their impressions of the industry.

For the first time, NBAA will host a Career Fair where students will have the opportunity to discuss job and internship possibilities with recruiters from business aviation companies. They can also network on the exhibit floor with hundreds of exhibitors and get the chance to see business aircraft and equipment up close. The Career Fair runs Oct. 18, from 1-5 p.m., and Oct. 19 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. The event is expected to feature more than a dozen companies.

Jo Damato, NBAA’s senior vice president for education, training and workforce development, said, “Collegiate Connect will seek to inspire young people to aspire to rewarding careers in business aviation. We hope that this important program will give students a deeper understanding of the diverse and exciting opportunities that await them in our global industry.”
