Refurb of the Month: Jefferson City Flying Service’s Aerostar 700P
Weve all seen them. Sad old derelict ramp dwellers with sun-faded paint and flat tires, awaiting rescue by the aviation equivalent of the Good Samartan. AVweb’s refurb winner this month is one of those, an Aerostar 700P brought back to life by Jefferson City Flying Service.
Weve all seen them. Sad old derelict ramp dwellers with sun-faded paint and flat tires, awaiting rescue by the aviation equivalent of the Good Samartan.
This months refurb aircraft is one of those. It comes from Steve Wilbers, shop supervisor at Jefferson City Flying Service in Jefferson City, Missouri.
Attached are before and after pictures of a Piper Aerostar that our shop refurbished with a glass panel, winglets and four-bladed propellers. It is a 1984 which was the first year for the PA60-700P and the last production year for the Aerostar. The plane sat for almost eight years and the avionics were stolen before it was brought to us to be resurrected.
