Seeking to provide a flight planning app for Android users, FlightPro has launched an app it refers to as intuitive, fast and pilot-friendly. CEO T. R. Wright described the app to AVwebs Rick Durden in a podcast at FlightPros booth at Sun n Fun. Wright explained that the FlightPro team is made up of experienced app developers who are also experienced pilots, so they created the flight planner to give pilots what they need, when they need it.

Wright said that they chose the Android platform because it is underserved in the aviation community and because it is available on over 100 devices of varying sizes so a pilot can chose the one thats right for a particular airplane. Wright went on to say that Android device displays are easier to read in sunlight than an iPad display and that, at $99 for an entry-level device, student pilots can get into the digital flight planning and display world more cheaply through FlightPro and Android.
