Eclipse Aviation on Saturday delivered three Eclipse 500s to start-up air-limo operator DayJet. For now, the aircraft will be used to train DayJet pilots at Eclipses facilities in Albuquerque. DayJet expects to put its fleet of Eclipse 500s into “per-seat, on-demand” commercial service by the end of June. Eclipse says DayJet is its largest customer, “with firm orders for 239 Eclipse 500s and options for an additional 70 aircraft over the next two years.” MedAire, Inc. has launched a new Pediatric Supplemental RX Kit that addresses the medical needs of children under 12 as they travel. The FAA on Tuesday issued an AD for Gulfstream G200s, saying “the jumpers at the Right Fuel Standby Pump Connector 4Q1 were manufactured from 14 AWG electrical wiring instead of 12 AWG wires as required.” According to the AD, these lighter weight wires could overheat, posing a safety hazard because of their close proximity to the fuel tank.
Cessna Citation Mustang simulators at FlightSafetys Wichita Learning Center are now level-D approved. EASA has qualified the VLJ sims at an interim level-C, with level-D to come after the expected EASA certification of the Mustang later this year.
