Embraer’s Praetor 500 midsize business jet has received its FAA and EASA type certificates, according to a company announcement on Monday. The Praetor 500, an updated version of the Legacy 450, is powered by the Honeywell HTF7500E engine and comes equipped with the Collins Aerospace Pro Line Fusion flight deck. It has a 3,340-NM range, 466-knot top cruise speed, full-fuel payload of 1,600 pounds and can seat up to nine passengers. As previously reported by AVweb, the aircraft was certified by Brazil’s Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil (ANAC) last August.
“The triple-certification by ANAC, EASA and FAA reaffirm the most disruptive and technologically advanced design of the Praetor 500 as the best midsize jet ever made,” said Embraer Executive Jets CEO Michael Amalfitano. “Praetor 500 owners will now enjoy the ultimate customer experience in the midsize class, with the highest level of performance, technology and comfort.”
The Praetor 500 was introduced alongside the longer-range Praetor 600—an update on the Legacy 500—at last year’s National Business Aviation Association Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition (NBAA-BACE). The Praetor 600 was FAA and EASA certified last May.
