Germany-based aircraft manufacturer Stemme AG announced the appointment of Bart Slager as the company’s new CEO last Friday. Slager is replacing Paul Masschelein, who announced last August that he would be stepping down after six and a half years in the position. Slager officially assumed the role on Aug. 28.

“Mr. Slager brings with him a broad-based experience in sales, finance and operations as well as transition and transformation projects and has a long track record within the aviation community,” said Stemme. “His focus will be on further strengthening both the Remos and Stemme brands as well as the transition and growth of Stemme AG in which the ECARYS division will play a defining role.”

Before joining Stemme, Slager worked for organizations including Avion Group, PrivatAir Group, NIB Capital Bank, Andersen Consulting, Fokker Aircraft and Gulfstream Aerospace. He has a master’s degree in aerospace engineering from Delft University of Technology in Delft, Netherlands, and an associate’s degree in economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam located in Rotterdam, Netherlands. In addition to its S-series gliders, Stemme AG produces the Remos GX and ECARYS ES15 aircraft.
