Goofing Around
After re-working an L-29 for Haney Tech School, we were going to push it out and run it, but it rained – so we started goofing around.
Pic taken of me with a iPhone 4S.
(It did start and run later, though!)
Nevada Eye Candy
Cell phone photo of putting Cub back in the hangar after a great evening of touch-and-goes.
Mosquito Aircraft Restoration, Auckland, New Zealand
While visiting Ardmore Air Field in New Zealand, I was lucky to be invited to have a look around the Mosquito workshop, where it was just finished being rebuilt. This is the world’s only WWII-era Mosquito bomber capable of flying and will be at Oshkosh this year.
Unfortunately, I only had my phone to take the photos.
Tempe Dust Storm in August
Note the 737 to the left of center!
Taken in Tempe, Arizona. Alaska Airlines 737 turning to avoid incoming wall of dust.
IPhone photo, as taken.
“That Was Too Close for Comfort!”
I don’t remember if I submitted this (or a slightly different version) of this before, but I shot it at the Scott Air Force Base air show on September 16, 2012.
I had to enhance the color and sharpness in Picasa because it was overcast all day. I panned with the plane coming from the right and prayed I would get the other one somewhere in the pic, as my Sony A330 can only take 2.5 FPS.

Endeavour Folds Her Wings
The space shuttle Endeavour, on the back of NASA’s shuttle carrier aircraft and flanked by two F-18 escorts, arrives at LAX on September 21 after an epic California tour. This flight marked the final time a space shuttle will be airborne.
This photo was taken with a Canon T2i and 100-400mm lens from an altitude of 11,000 feet. Cropped, level adjustments, and reduced for file size.
