Balloon Dip
This is the Rio Grande gorge near Taos, New Mexico. Most flights include dipping the basket in the river. You can’t see the actual dip because of the steep walls, but you can tell when it happens because the water is cold and the passengers holler when they get their feet wet.
Airbus 380 at the Paris Air Show
Even though this looks like an aerial photo, this shot was actually taken from the ground as the aircraft was climbing away at a steep angle.

Very Big Toy for Small Children?
This very large electric RC glider at scale 1:3 ( wingspan 8.40 m for a weight of 25 kg) is not a toy for small children but a true one for adult children! Photo taken with a Pentax Optio P80 camera at 1/250 sec, F 7.0, focal length 5mm. No other modification than reduction of the size of the original file under to 1MB.

Four-Plane Formation
Started out as a three-plane formation of our Yellow Birds from the Canadian Historical Aircraft Association, consisting of a Stearman and the two Chipmunks when another member in his Acro Sport joined us. Great tight formation. Just cropped and resized. Taken with a Nikon D90.
Starship Modification?
“Mergers” are always a big problem when photographing static airplanes, especially on crowded ramps. I usually work hard to avoid them, but this time I did the opposite – as a tribute to the variety of airplanes one can see together probably only at AirVenture!

P-51 Smoke Ring Bullseye!
With the simulated bomb blasts, smoke rings formed at the Saturday air show at Oshkosh 2011. The P-51s decided to make a game of it and fly through the smoke rings! The photo was cropped to show a closer view of the aircraft going through the smoke ring.
