Some older bizjets and even some turboprops are still flying around with Carter-era avionics because of the sizable teardown and costs. Avidyne is looking to change that with its Atlas FMS. This flight management system trickles down from Avidyne’s IFD-series panel navigators, but it’s packaged in a chassis that fits the center pedestal of some older jets that might not even have GPS approach capability, or ADS-B.
