SAN DIEGO – July 29, 2021 – Live from EAA AirVenture 2021, the creator and team from Laminar Research shared preview screenshots and videos of a next generation X-Plane simulator today. The broadcast was hosted by Flight Simulation Association and provided FSA members the opportunity to ask questions directly to the X-Plane team. More than 500 people joined the live broadcast across Facebook, YouTube Live, and the Flight Simulation Association website.
“We’re building the next generation of X-Plane,” says Austin Meyer, creator of X-Plane. “[And at FlightSimExpo later this year], I want to show the next gen simulator, say how you can get it, and when. X-Plane 11 has had a heck of a run, but it’s time for what’s next.”
A replay of the presentation is available with a free Flight Simulation Association account: https://flightsimassociation.com/webinars/x-plane-past-present-and-future.
Laminar Research, creators of X-Plane, will be heavily featured at FlightSimExpo 2021. Beginning on Friday, September 24, pilots from Laminar Research will discuss FMC and Systems Operations in X-Plane, looking at the functions and options available in the default version of the simulator. Then, in a one-hour in-person presentation, Austin and the team will be previewing the latest developments in X-Plane and providing more information on the “next generation simulator” previews shown earlier today. Finally, on Sunday, FlightSimExpo attendees can take the stage and compete for prizes in the annual X-Plane Landing Competition.
“We heartily invite everyone to go to FlightSimExpo,” echoed Marty Arant from X-Plane. “See you in San Diego!”
Alongside X-Plane, more than 30 other sponsors and exhibitors are taking part in FlightSimExpo, including Prepar3D, Honeycomb Aeronautical, Thrustmaster, Turtle Beach, Flight Factor, SoFly, Gleim Aviation, Redbird Flight Simulations, and many more.
