New FAA STC – Using a Wireless Data Loader with Honeywell Primus EPIC avionics

(Londonderry, NH) On July 21, 2017, Pro Star Aviation, with support from its in-house Organization Designation Authorization (ODA) delegation, and in partnership with Honeywell Aerospace, obtained approval from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for a multiple-use Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) ST00383BO – Installation of a Honeywell DLMU-W (Wireless Data LAN Management Unit) in support of Honeywell Primus EPIC(TM) avionics systems.ST00383BO provides operators with a backwards compatible drop-in replacement solution for existing Data Management Unit (DMU) 2 and 3’s and Data LAN Management Units (DLMU), with the wireless Data Loader version; DLMU-W. The new DLMU-W’s primarily act as a data source for data loading operations of Primus EPIC(TM) avionics systems, and additionally serve as a source or destination for stored data, such as navigational chart files.Key benefits of the DLMU-W include; connectivity through a tablet device via Honeywell mobile applications; database loading via MyHDM or IDM; maintenance downloading via MyMaintainer.
