Aerospace Welding Minneapolis, which overhauls aircraft exhaust systems and does engine mount and turbo mount repairs, has received Part 145 EASA approval to send overhauled and repaired parts to any European country that is a member of EASA. The certificate was issued under the Bilateral Aviation Safety Agreement and the associated Maintenance Implementation Procedures.

Joe Walker Joe Walker, CEO of Dornier Seaplane Company, has been named to the business advisory council of Bye Energy. Bye Energy is developing alternative fuels for aviation.

Alvie Barron Alvie Barron has been named director of North American sales for Banyan Air. He worked previously at Jet Aviation, General Dynamics, Bombardier and Hawker Beechcraft.

Dale Barnard Dale Barnard has been hired as a sales executive for NationAir Aviation Insurance covering Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana and Alaska. He was previously with a large national insurance broker.

Tim Goulet Tim Goulet has joined CRS Jet Spares as sales manager for the West Coast of the U.S., as well as handling accounts in the Middle East and Asia. He was previously director of maintenance for Symphony Master Ltd., a Dubai-based Global Express operator.

John Patterson John Patterson is FreeFlight Systems’ new director of marketing and sales. Patterson is a former naval aviator who also flew for Delta before joining FreeFlight.

JA Air Center The year ended on a positive note for JA Air Center with the opening of their new FBO at Chicagolands Aurora Airport (KARR). The facility includes a canopy large enough for large-cabin business jets to park under while deplaning passengers.

Leland Thoburn Leland Thoburn has been named Chief Financial Officer for Samson Motorworks. Thoburn comes from Earthlink, where he was the CFO from start-up to first IPO and later assumed numerous management positions in that rapidly growing company.

Stephen McGee Stephen McGee is the new Avionics Manager of US Avionics. McGee has 20 years of experience in the avionics field.

David Oblinger David Oblinger has been hired as the general manager of Flight Display Systems, which produces cabin entertainment systems. Oblinger’s background is in improving business processes, and he was most recently Director of Operations and Resources for Silgan Plastics Corp.
