Richard Hodkinson, the former West Coast division president of FirstFlight, has purchased those operations and will operate them under the name JetCore.

A unit of Landmark Aviation Services has emerged under new ownership. Piedmont Aircraft Company will sell pre-owned Hawker and Beechcraft from offices in Winston-Salem, N.C. and Leesburg, Va.

PlaneSense has expanded coverage in the Bahamas to include seven new airports, bringing to 19 the number accessible without repositioning fees. The company has also expanded its primary operating area westward to include parts of Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas.

Kansas State University now has a Cessna 421B for students in its maintenance programs to work on. The pressurized piston twin remains on flight status. It was donated to the university by supporters and aviation enthusiasts Kenneth and Tamara Knight.

Diamond Aircraft announced a major order for its Lycoming-powered DA42 twin from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. The university ordered 10 DA42 L360s and will have them in time for the next academic year.

AMSTAT, which provides corporate aviation fleet and operator information, has been part of the CAMP Systems family of companies for five years. It’s expanded aggressively in that time and boasts a 96 percent customer satisfaction rating.

H. L. Skip Hockman has been named a sales specialist for the PlaneSense Fractional Ownership Program operated by Alpha Flying. Hockman will cover an expanded territory west of the Mississippi.

Charlie Johnson Former Cessna President Charlie Johnson is now Viper Aircraft’s director of business development. The Washington State company is developing the two-place tandem ViperJet.

ExecuJet is broadening Mexico-based fleet available for clients in Latin America and the Caribbean to include Global Express and Falcon 900B aircraft. They augment the three PC-12s already dispatched to that area.

Kelly Aviation Center, an affiliate of Lockheed Martin, has received EASA certification for maintenance repair and overhaul of the CF6-50 engine. The certification expands the company’s market to European-owned DC-10s, A300s and Boeing 747s.
