Vulcanair and its U.S distributor Ameravia announced at AirVenture that they will be offering a new version of the Vulcanair P68R designed for use by flight schools as a multi-engine trainer. The P68R ECO is powered by twin Lycoming IO-360 engines and comes equipped with the Garmin G1000NXi and GFC700 autopilot. According to Ameravia, the ECO includes “only a few modifications intended to reduce the price, but it will have most of the normal P68 features.”
Ameravia says that the ECO will be available only to flight schools on a fleet-purchase basis. Cost for the aircraft will be in the mid-$800,000 range. The Vulcanair P68R (Vr) model on which the ECO is based cruises at 168 knots and has a range of approximately 890 NM and a service ceiling of 20,000 feet.
Ameravia also announced that it has taken orders for 18 Vulcanair V1.0 aircraft over the last twelve months. All of the four-seat, single-engine V1.0s on order will be going to university and technical schools with flight training programs. The company says its V1.0 deliveries are currently averaging about two aircraft per month.
