They’ll have them packed for your return flight. The event also includes RV and other experimental awards and a screening of the Bob Hoover film, Flying the Feathered Edge. Also Saturday inHammondsport, New York,the Glenn H. Curtiss Museum will pay its annual tribute the first man to take off and land on water in an airplane. Activities begin at 10 a.m. at Depot Park on the lakefront in Hammondsport. Beginning at 1 p.m., see the seaplane parade around Keuka Lake that extends beyond the southern loop directly over Curtiss’ gravesite.
In Wichita, Kansas, the Travel Air Restorers Association will host a National Reunion Thursday through Sunday, celebrating 90 years since the manufacturer’s founding. Stearman Field (1K1) will be the base for the event’s operations. Arrive Wednesday if you want to attend everything on the schedule, including tours of the original Travel Air factory, which still stands and is part of Textron Aviation. All Travel Air owners and enthusiasts are welcome.Kent State University’s 19th annual Aviation Heritage Fair will take place Saturday in Stow, Ohio. The day starts with a sunrise balloon launch and a pancake breakfast hosted by the Stow-Munroe Falls Kiwanis Club. Schedule permitting, the Goodyear Blimp plans on attending.
