Embraer’s Praetor 500 midsize business jet has received its type certificate from Brazil’s Civil Aviation Authority (Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil—ANAC), the company announced at the Latin American Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition (LBACE) in São Paulo, Brazil, on Tuesday. The Honeywell HTF7500E-powered Praetor 500 has a range of 3,340 NM, high-speed cruise of 466 knots and full-fuel payload of 1,600 pounds. Features include the Collins Aerospace Pro Line Fusion flight deck, Embraer’s Turbulence Reduction technology and 5,800-foot cabin altitude.
“This revolutionary aircraft is a testament to the commitment of our teams to excellence and a foretaste of the pioneering that Embraer will accomplish throughout the next 50 years,” said Embraer Executive Jets CEO Michael Amalfitano. “With the highest performance, technology and comfort in its class, the Praetor 500 becomes the best midsize business jet ever made, raising the customer experience standards of its class.” Amalfitano also says Embraer has orders for the Praetor 500, although the exact number was not disclosed.
As previously reported by AVweb, the longer-range Praetor 600 received EASA and FAA type certificates last May. Both aircraft, which are updated versions of Embraer’s Legacy 450 and Legacy 500 models, were introduced at the 2018 National Business Aviation Association Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition (NBAA-BACE).
