A Learjet 36 carrying a prominent religious leader and eight others hit a construction crane while landing at Grand Bahama International Airport Sunday, killing all on board. Among those killed were Pastor Myles Munroe, his wife Ruth and other passengers and crew. Munroe was leader of the Bahamas Faith Ministries, among the largest religious congregations in the island chain.

The aircraft left Nassau about an hour before the crash, taking Munro and his entourage to a religious conference. About 5:10 p.m., while on final for Grand Bahama International Airport, the Lear hit the crane and exploded, raining debris on a junkyard below. Local authorities are investigating.
