Tecnam introduced the P2008JC NG on Tuesday, a new version of its training aircraft certified under EASA CS-23 standards. The company said the model is intended to give flight schools a durable platform with updated systems, including the fuel-injected Rotax 912 iSc engine.
The NG retains the P2008’s hybrid construction, combining a carbon-fiber fuselage with metal wings and stabilator, which Tecnam said supports both performance and repairability. The aircraft is now available for order, the company said.
The design aims to address a range of operational requirements for training organizations. According to the company, the Rotax 912 iSc offers lower fuel use compared with many traditional training platforms, along with compatibility with certain automotive fuels. The NG also adds a Garmin G3X Touch flight deck.
Company leaders also noted that the aircraft’s design focuses on safety, particularly at lower airspeeds.
“The P2008JC NG represents a significant leap in training safety,” Giovanni Pascale Langer, Tecnam managing director, said. “By certifying to the latest CS-23 Amendment 6 standards, we have enhanced the aircraft’s safety characteristics specifically at very low speeds—the typical mission profile for ab-initio training.”
Additional updates include a redesigned center console, revised window configuration, improved restraint systems and an optional autopilot. Tecnam said the NG aligns with its broader product line for schools operating the P-Mentor or P2006T NG, allowing standardization on fuel-injected powerplants. The company said that CS-23 certification will be accepted in all EASA-recognized countries.
