ForeFlight has acquired JetFuelX, a Web-based fuel card management service for turbine aircraft operators. The service allows users to manage multiple aircraft and fueling locations on one site and features quick-search pricing and fuel management tools. ForeFlight says the acquisition enhances its flight planning app with a unique feature. “We are thrilled to announce this exciting addition to ForeFlight. The JetFuelX platform is the first of its kind and allows our customers to make timely and cost-effective planning and fuel purchase decisions,” Tyson Weihs, ForeFlight’s co-founder and CEO, said in the company’s announcement Friday.
Current and new JetFuelX customers can still continue to use the service free, while ForeFlight subscribers can now use their current app login to access the JetFuelX portal. “We are really excited to join the ForeFlight team and continue to expand our services,” JetFuelX founder Jason Talley said. “Our primary focus is to enable owners, operators, and flight departments to take full advantage of the tremendous cost savings available in purchasing fuel.” The service launched in August 2015.
