The wishes of ForeFlight users eager to use Jeppesen departure, arrival and approach plates have come true. The partnership between ForeFlight and the famed navigation data publisher was announced in early May, but access to the instrument plates only became available to ForeFlight users Wednesday. The upgrade to Jeppesen charts covering the continental U.S. plus Hawaii is $199 per year, not including the base cost of a ForeFlight subscription. Canada and Alaska (combined) are available for $179 per year. Jeppesen IFR en route charts, while included with the subscription to Jeppesen plates, won’t be available to users until later this summer, says ForeFlight.

“We’re thrilled about our partnership with Jeppesen and finally being able to deliver their best-in-class charts to our customers,” said Tyson Weihs, co-founder and CEO of ForeFlight. “This integration offers aviators the most powerful combination of Jeppesen charts and EFB functionality available on the market today.” Global terrain and obstacle data used to drive Hazard Advisor, Terrain Profile View and Synthetic Vision in ForeFlight is also provided by Jeppesen and comes included with ForeFlight Pro Plus or Performance Plus subscriptions.
