A medical helicopter crashed Thursday night in California’s Central Valley, killing all four people aboard.The SkyLife air ambulance was found in a field about halfway through a 50-mile route to a hospital, according to aCBS/Associated Press report. Apilot, nurse, paramedic and a patient were on board.The weather was reported to be rainy and foggy at the time of the crash, according to the report.
The helicopter,operated by American Ambulance, was en route fromPorterville to San Joaquin Community Hospital in Bakersfield when it crashed near a highway about 7:05 p.m., after communications with the helicopter were lost, the Sacramento Bee reported. A sheriff’s helicopter reported finding the wreckage about 8:35 p.m.
