Boeing announced on Wednesday that it has acquired aviation app company ForeFlight. ForeFlight has been working in partnership with Jeppesen—also owned by Boeing—for the last two years to offer Jeppesen's aeronautical data and charts on ForeFlight mobile platforms. Although the exact terms of the deal have not been disclosed, Boeing says the ForeFlight and Jepessen teams will "integrate talent and offerings" going forward.

"We are excited to build on ForeFlight's tremendous success in personal, business and defense aviation so we can provide next-generation, integrated tools to our aviation customers today," said Boeing Vice President of Digital Solutions and Analytics Ken Sain. "This acquisition also expands Boeing's rapidly growing, unparalleled digital services portfolio which will enable us to compete and win in the $2.8 trillion, 10-year services market."

ForeFlight is headquartered in Houston, Texas. The company has approximately 180 employees. According to Boeing, adding ForeFlight to its portfolio "aligns with Boeing's growth strategy of complementing organic investments with targeted, strategic investments that position the company for long-term growth."
