Every IFR pilot knows the joys and sorrows of routing. Flying home from Massachusetts one afternoon, I heard the following exchange:
NY controller: “King Air XXXX, climb and … disregard.”
Pilot: “Awwww…”
NY controller: “I’ll be right back with you.”
Pilot: “Woo‑hoo!”
