This week,AVweb‘s news roundup found stories about new simulators for Central Washington University, the launch of a program for aspiring pilots, a training management system agreement for Jet2.com and flight data analysis software for Aeromexico. Central Washington University (CWU) hasawarded Seattle-based one-G simulation a contractfor five Foundation Advanced Aviation Training Devices (AATD) and a Piper Archer device that is currently in development at one-G headquarters. The contract includes a mix of both G1000 and GTN-650 based devices
Also on the flight training side of things, US Aviation Academy has announced that the first class of itsnewly launched Accelerated Career Programfor aspiring pilots will being on Jan. 11, 2019, in Denton, Texas. Students will earn licenses and ratings including Commercial Single and Multi, Certified Flight Instructor (CFI), CFI-Instrument, and Multi-Engine Instructor (MEI), for a fixed cost of $74,495. Student loans are available for the program.
Jet2.com hassigned a service agreementwith MINT Software Systems for implementation of the MINT TRMS training management system. MINT TRMS allows training planners, instructors and crews online access to training schedules, electronic grading forms, reports, learning materials and other training related data. Finally, Mexican flagship air carrier Aeromexico will be usingCEFA Aviation’s Flight Animation System(FAS) for its 130+ aircraft. CEFA FAS software recreates flights based on the data from aircraft flight recorders, allowing for after-landing flight analyses using 3D reproductions of views from the cockpit, the aircraft and its environment.
