For many pilots, landing at AirVenture is a bucket list item, but for Dan Moore it will just be icing on the cake. Assuming he’s aiming for one of the colored dots on July 24, it will hopefully be after he set a record for landing in 25 states in 24 hours. He’s already set the record for the most airports visited in 24 hours by landing at 92 in 2019.

Moore has chosen the wide-open spaces of Oklahoma for his launch point, but he will immediately head east for the target-rich Eastern Seaboard to touch down in almost every state north of Atlanta before heading through the Midwest and finally to Oshkosh. He’s aiming to leave at 10 a.m. on July 23 and be on the ground in Oshkosh no more than 24 hours later. Several sponsors are offering prizes in a draw to mark the effort.
